The local area around Woodcroft is blessed with many attractions, places to visit, it is ideal for families, walkers, climbers and cyclists.

Wye Valley Greenway and the Tidenham Tunnel south entrance is just a short walk away across the fields from the Rising Sun. The Greenway is ideal for cyclists and walkers, it is open from 1st April to 30th September each year.
Further up the road from the Rising Sun in Tidenham is an amazing walk and the Devils Pulpit viewpoint, giving stunning views over the Wye Valley and Tintern Abbey. Why not drop in the pub afterwards.
Directly opposite the Rising Sun is a special area of rock climbing, Wintours Leap, which is directly over the River Wye.
The Rising Sun, Woodcroft, is located on the hill above Chepstow and Chepstow Castle. Round walks from Chepstow, takes in the tower in Tutshill and uses parts of Offa’s Dyke Path. Visit Tutshill Church and see where J.K. Rowling spent some of her childhood growing up.
The Gloucestershire Way passes next to the Rising Sun, with views like this above Wintours Leap down to Lancaut Nature Reserve and the old Roman Port below.
The stunning Forest of Dean is just up the road. With beautiful trails for walking and cycling, stunning views and picturesque lakes, it is an area not to be missed.
Offa’s Dyke Path starts or ends close to the Rising Sun in nearby Sedbury Cliffs. The path runs directly past the Rising Sun in Woodcroft, why not pop in for lunch or dinner.
Farther up the road from Woodcroft along the Coleford Road is the stunning Puzzlewood, used for filming TV and Films. Also next door is Perrygrove Railway a lovely family attraction.
